The Grateful Dead selects by Rhythm co-founder Neal Purchase Jnr.  They are probably best known for their 70’s acid stadium jazz rock but I personally like the earlier blues, folk surf rock style when they first started out in San Francisco in the late 60’s with Gerry and Pig Pen doing most of the front vocals.  There are so many bootlegs, live recordings and records, its easy to put a label on them, and get the wrong idea when they have gone through so many styles.  There is actually a really good documentary called “The Other One” featuring Bob Weir, telling the real story of how it all went down.
